YLANG YLANG OIL- THE SECRET APHRODISIAC MAGIC LIQUID

Days that go bland and monotonous…with sparks that could’ve turned into fire but alas! they did not…

Nature created magic…which apparently is yet hidden from the human eye and awareness…it would be absurd to say that oil instigates any xyz feelings or sensations but yet what cannot be denied or overlooked is its ability to surely stir frenzy among humans because of its elusive nature.

You know there are three aromatherapy oils that are most known for their aphrodisiac properties are rose, neroli, and jasmine, but ylang-ylang is also one of the top oils when it comes to uplifting the emotions and fueling the sexual desire that’s ready to manifest when a certain fragrance touches the synapses in the brain. Ylang-ylang has a calming effect and an incredible floral scent so it is considered a great aphrodisiac by people who are looking for a natural stimulant that rarely disappoints in terms of rousing the libido.

Ylang ylang essential oil is one of the first oils I remember smelling as a child. At that time I had never even heard of it, but I just loved the aroma as I walked into the room (it was being burnt in a diffuser), and I wanted to know what it was!

Sensual and exotic Ylang Ylang is renowned for its aphrodisiac properties and is often used in the name of love! Ylang ylang means ‘flower of flowers’….and that in itself conjures up romance!

It is stimulating, yet relaxing oil with antiseptic and aphrodisiac properties

It elevates the spirit and consoles the heart.

The best way to strengthen bonds is to take nature’s help when evrything else denies you a solution…under the aegis of oils like Ylang Ylang…one gets a ‘natural’ high…a kick to rebuilt and rejuvenate the romance that takes a backseat in todays world of extensive stress & strain.

Amazing is her past…Chanel...a female…born in 1883…lost her parents at a tender age…hailed from the province of Auvergne….Her nickname was ‘Coco’ or ‘little pet’ ………She learnt stiching from her aunts who raised her, she became a hat designer in 1908……opened two boutiques in 1914…….and she continued to design elegant yet stylish fashions in contrast to the frilly fashions of those day…….Some say her style was deeply impacted by the shortage of fabrics in France through the two World Wars….Though she was quoted as saying she only designed things she herself wanted to wear….

She came in touch with some of the most creative and visionary and influential artists of her time; including Diaghilev, Picasso, Stravinsky and Cocteau..(Wow! Lucky her!)

Like these artists, she was too was hell bent on doing things out of the box and hence expressed herself by her couture……Cocteau once said of her “she has, by a kind of miracle, worked in fashion according to rules that would seem to have value only for painters, musicians, poets.”

Chanel created such practical clothing as the tricot sailor dress, and turtleneck and pullover sweaters. She did the irriversible…still recognized…she designed pants for women…

That was all about her clothing…there is much more to Chanel than what You or I can imagine….She shot to fame via her fragrance Chanel No.5 , in its 1923 Art Deco bottle…It was the first EVER perfume to bear a designer’s name…. (Phew! impressed i was to know this…kudos to Chanel)

One could say it was this perfume that helped keep Chanel’s reputation throughout World War II….She responded to the war by shutting down her fashion business and hooking up with Hans Gunther von Dincklage, a Nazi officer whose favors included permission to reside in her beloved Ritz Hotel…..Years later in the 1950’s, she had trouble making a comeback because her name still had “disgraced” attached to it….

Her Chanel suit met coveted success….Karl Lagerfeld who designs Chanel today and who has turned the company into an even bigger, more profitable business than it was before, points out, “By the ’50s she had the benefit of distance, and so could truly distill the Chanel look……Time and culture had caught up with her.”

Initially she got a lukewarm response from the Europeans…….Her designs provided fashions for the famous women of her time including Jackie Kennedy….Her creations included one of history’s most famous fragrances, Chanel.

Now lets get down to ylang Ylang and Chanel’s connect…

The Cananga Odorata tree is considered to be the true constituent of the overly famous and renowned Chanel No.5 Perfume.Commonly referred to as Ylang Ylang tree.

Chanel No. 5 for women was launched in 1921…It is classified as a feminine, modern, floral fragrance….its chief ingridient bein the Ylang Ylang oil..

ylang-ylang is the key ingredient of Chanel No. 5 and other perfumes as well….Coco Chanel introduced Chanel No.5 in Paris….

Ylang Ylang has high reach…Chanel…wow…One amazing thing it is

Those long lustrous tresses and sweep anyone off their feet..Beautiful hairs have always been in vogue..But thanks to today’s environment, pollution and frequent commuting that management of those long beautiful locks goes haywire…

Less time..Long list of things screaming for attention…I mean personal pampering…where pampering has gone for a toss at the end of the day. Its quick and easy home remedies that come to our rescue…remember grandma’s remedy for that chronic whooping cough??? Yes…a mixture of honey & ginger & long hours of relief…and for hair…Ylang Ylang oil…it did and still does wonders…

The oil was once a popular ingredient of hair preparations in Europe and was known as Macassar oil. The word “anti-Macassar” originated from this, since an anti-maccasar was used to keep hair oil from staining upholstered furniture.

Ylang Ylang, yes I admit that the very first time I heard the name I was in splits! Not because of any other reason but because of the fact that the name is rather unusual and the one who hears it for the first time wouldn’t even know how to pronounce it…Like I didn’t! I used to pronounce it as ‘whylang’ ‘y-lang’ ‘yeelang’ but never ‘ee-lang’.

Okay, moving ahead from the name, when it is about the oil…the essential oil as I should better put it…is considered and it indeed is one heavenly natural oil…

Considered the crown jewel of the Ylang Ylang Oil levels, the Extra is prized for its amazing floral top notes. Use to calm breathing, for high blood pressure, and to treat impotence (frigidity). Ylang-Ylang means ‘Flower of Flowers’ and is an exotic, aphrodisiac floral. It is available in 3 distillations, from the Extra, which is the most floral to the Ylang-Ylang III, which is more bourbon-like in scent.

Ylang-Ylang (Cananga odorata var. genuina) is a tall tropical tree that grows up to 65 feet high with large delicate flowers that come in shades of yellow, mauve, or pink. The yellow flowers are preferred for the extraction of the essential oil, which is steam distilled from the freshly picked flowers in fractionated rounds to separate the topmost, delicate, floral notes (about 40% of the yield) from the more earthy-bourbon type notes of the successive fractionations.

It is indigenous to tropical Asia, but the most prized oil comes from Madagascar and the Comoro Islands. The oil is characterized as intensely sweet, soft, floral-balsamic, with a slightly spicy scent and a creamy-rich top note.

The health benefits of Ylang-Ylang Essential Oil can be attributed to its properties like –

Anti depressant

Anti seborrhoeic

Anti septic

Aphrodisiac

Hypotensive

Nervine

Sedative

This name was seldom known to common man even a few years back, but with the thousands of cosmetics products and their advertisements flooding the television, soon this became a well known name in households. The essential oil of ylang-ylang is extracted by steam distillation of fresh flowers of ylang-ylang tree, which bears a scientific name Cananga Odorata and is an inhabitant of the rain forests of certain Asia-Pacific Islands like Indonesia, Philippines, Java, Sumatra, Comoro and Polynesia etc.

The chief components of the essential oil of ylang-ylang are benzyl acetate, benzyl benzoate linalool, caryophyllene, geranyl acetate, methyl benzoate, p-cresyl methyl ether and certain other components called Sesquiterpenes, which attribute to its aroma and medicinal properties. Hence, apart from its widespread use in perfumes and aromatherapy, due to its very pleasing and delicate fragrance, it is used in medicines too.

Mesmerized is what Ylang Ylang oil leaves the one who breathes in the scent of it.

Originating in the Philippines, ylang ylang means “flower of flowers” or “fragrance of all fragrances.” This fragrance is traditionally used in aromatherapy to sharpen the senses and for various other purposes. For these reasons, the flowers are spread on the beds of the newly married in Indonesia.

Modern aroma therapists find the scent strongly sedating, easily sending the most reluctant sleeper off to dreamland.

Science, on the other hand, regards ylang ylang essential oil more as a mental stimulant. Can it be both?

Quite possibly it stimulates people’ s minds in one way while relaxing them in another.

Certain less known facts about the lingering fragrance of this oil is-

Principal constituents of ylang ylang: Linalol, geraniol, eugenol, safrol, ylangol, linalyl benzoate, linalyl acetate, alpha pinene, benzoic acid, cadinene, caryophylelene, creosol, isoeugenol.

Scent of ylang ylang: The fragrance is intensely sweet, heady, floral, and slightly spicy, with a narcissus or bananalike overtone.

Ylang Ylang oil is uncut, alcohol free, long lasting, high grade essence oil – excellent for aromatherapy uses – to scent candles; freshen potpourri; in soap making; massage oils; bath oil… and of course as a perfume body oil – to smell magnificent.

In today’s world of round the clock working schedule tight packed life…an oil like Ylang Ylang can help soothe you after weeklong hardships. It is said that when used to massage your body, most of Ylang Ylang’s benefits get absorbed into your body, making you smelling of a sweet fragrance & hence a lot more fresh than you previously would have been. It’s soft dainty smell can definitely give you the kind of satisfaction no perfume or cream can provide.

A reminder!

It is a highly valued essence both in perfumery for the power of its delicate flowery note, and in aromatherapy for its action on the nervous system in all symptoms derived from stress, such as hypertension, tachycardia and sleeplessness. From time immemorial the natives of the islands have used the flowers of ylang ylang to treat their hair. In fact, this flower is the main ingredient of the famed Macassar oil. Ylang ylang essence has an hormonal effect and is used in aromatherapy for the cure of many feminine problems.

This is how Ylang Ylang is different from the rest..you name a quality & it possesses it.

YLANG YLANG OIL-HYPOTENSIVE HELP

Before I get down to the nitty-gritty of this topic…let me first explain as to what does the word ‘hypotensive’ mean…

It’s a noun…developed from the word ‘hypertension’

It means..

1. Of or characterized by low blood pressure.

2. Causing a reduction in blood pressure.

Lets me exemplify…so that you can relate to it in a better way….ever felt drained? dizzy? Like you’ve totally been sucked out of energy? Yes? this is what you are going through…Low blood pressure! Or term it Hypotension!

Let me explain it to you from the scratch…When we say low…it means..lower than the normal/average body temperature of a being…to elaborate further…low enough that you might even faint. As a matter of fact , let me disclose this to you that low is often good for a person’s health…but then again…excess or scarcity of anything and everything…and you suffer reverses.

About low blood pressure

Symptoms of low blood pressure

Causes of low blood pressure

Diagnosis of low blood pressure

Treatment of low blood pressure

About low blood pressure

Hmm…Again let me explain things to you like i would do to any xyz kid around…I mean from the basic..blood pressure…the word itself shouts it’s meaning..the pressure of blood..now which pressure..the pressure that out blood applies to the walls of the arteries inside which the blood is flowing. there is an equilibrium maintained as far as our body’s blood pressure is concerned.

There are 2 numbers to express the blood pressure, such as 120/80 mmHg (millimetres of mercury)…the former mentioned figures are of maximum & minimum blood pressure of ours.

Now this is a very common and known fact but still let me remind you…the higher is our blood pressure…the greater risk we hold to develop a coronary heart disease…so better to have it low than to die of a heart attack isn’t it? Which is anyway proliferating owing to our lethargic lifestyles…anyway…thats an entirely different issue… so for your information the ideal blood pressure for adults is less than 120/80 mmHg.

Okay…another major concern..if your blood pressure goes really low…your vital organs like the brain and heart are deprived of an optimum level of blood flow which again causes you to faint…So out of the fire into the frying pan…Anyway…Listen up!

Symptoms of low blood pressure

If your blood pressure is naturally low, you are unlikely to have any symptoms and it’s not something you should be concerned about.

The concern should start when out of the blue your blood pressure hits low…you might face the following symptoms-

dizziness (like everything is moving around you)

fainting

shortness of breath

pain in the chest

feet and hands might turn cold

palpitations (you can feel your heart beating more forcefully)

All these are commonly experienced by us when we change our posture…like we get up after lying for long..or sit after standing for long. It is termed as postural (or orthostatic) hypotension. If you usually experience these symptoms after eating a large meal, it’s called postprandial hypotension.

If you have any of the symptoms of low blood pressure, you should see your GP.

Causes of low blood pressure

If your blood pressure has been described as low but yet minus any kinds of the previously mentioned experiences, then there is unlikely to be any underlying problem, and this is a normal blood pressure for you.

A number of factors can cause us to faint, such as standing for long in the sun, pain and strong emotions. These usually cause only a brief, temporary drop in blood pressure.

However, if you have low blood pressure that is regularly causing symptoms, it means the mechanisms that control blood pressure in your body are not working as they should be, causing your blood pressure to drop. If you have postural hypotension, it takes time for your body to adapt to the changed posture…like when you stand up, causing blood to pool in your legs.

Postprandial hypotension occurs when blood flows to the digestive system after eating a meal – but your body doesn’t respond in the normal way to maintain blood pressure in the rest of your body.

Factors that can cause this include the following.

Injury, burns and dehydration – reducing the amount of blood in body…they cause low blood pressure

Heart conditions, such as heart failure, heart attack and arrhythmia, stop your heart pumping the blood effectively.

High blood pressure – people who have high blood pressure often find that their blood pressure is more likely to fluctuate from high to low.

Conditions involving your nervous system, such as Guillain-Barré syndrome, diabetes and Parkinson’s disease – these affect how well your body is able to respond to a change in posture.

Age – postural hypotension is more likely as you get older.

Okay so you’ve gained enough information regarding your trouble…lets get down to its shooter! Ylang Ylang oil..the most natural treatment for the trouble.

This oil is a very good and effective agent for lowering blood pressure. In a world so full of blood pressure problems regardless of what age, and the medicines for bringing it down have serious adverse side effects on the health, the Ylang-Ylang oil can be a safe refuge. It is natural and has no adverse side effects on health, if taken in prescribed quantities.

LURES LOVE- YLANG YLANG OIL

For ages…different sorts of exotic smells, lights, a unique ambience have been experimented to swing the moods of young couples…to develop environments Conducive for them to feel at ease…to let loose in each other’s presence..

Just another thing..perhaps a lot more effective is Ylang Ylang oil..just one of those things that ignites the initial spark between an item.

The rooms of newly wedded couples are decorated with Ylang Ylang flowers.… solid reasons behind the gesture…Ylang Ylang enhances the sexual energy and in turn strengthens relationships. It stimulates the adrenal glands….heard of the adrenalin rush? That is what exactly happens due to the strong smell of the oil/flowers…and eventually does wonders for the newly-weds.

It is calming and relaxing and may also help with anger and rage and low self-esteem and fills you with a lot of self-confidence…for the very first timers. It brings back the feelings of self-love, joy and peace.

The petals of Ylang Ylang are spread on the bed of newly wedded couples….the bride’s getaway bag….& various other places…probably so that even she can lay the same on her bed on the night of her honeymoon.

A soothing massage done in the right manner using Ylang Ylang oil does wonders for the moods of couples…blend it with certain other essential oils rejuvenates you and puts even the slightest of sensations on high alert…its gentle smell reduces stress…strain…relaxes your senses and makes you ready for any sort of mental or physical adventure.

Probably your grandad or grandma can tell you of the history of scented candles and room sprays that were used to lighten the moods of the people…especially when it came down to handling bonds as delicate as marriage…

It has been done extensively in the past..it is still being done…and it’ll continue to be done as long as we have such gifted esoteric scents bestowed on us by nature…the naturally stimulating strong smells of flowers of Ylang Ylang…or simply Ylang Ylang oil itself…

Almost everything on earth has an extended…history…sometimes funny…sometimes tragic…sometimes weird..

Our dearest and most precious..multi-purpose ( Phew! Sometimes…i seriously feel that Ylang Ylang is too good to be true )…too has a rather ‘cute’ (yes..i’d term it cute! ) history…

Ever heard of the tribe ‘Bori Bori’ ( Frankly…I had not! )Anyway……this Bori Bori tribe from the Tahiti region (Maluc) used to get ready and decorate themselves using these flowers of Ylang Ylang tree……

And used Ylang-Ylang as a hair conditioner and they used it as a perfume…not literally but they rubbed it all over their bodies to keep in good health and to secretly smell of flowery……

Hang on….it is not all! They even used it in their tea….thay believed in its medicinal properties…and knew its usage would keep all sorts of infections and diseases at bay…diseases like malaria, typhoid, diarrhea.

And they used it to pacify themselves…applied it to calm themselves down.

Okay now that i’ll be telling you is not about the Bori-Bori tribe but the ‘Bori-Bori’ name…

The core crowd of Indonesia mixes Ylang-ylang flowers in coconut oil and use it for general skincare, treatment of the scalp, counter fevers, cutaneous eruptions and to reduce itchiness from stings and bites…..A lotion called Bori-bori was made from the mixing of Ylang-Ylang flowers in curcuma or coconut oil and was used to friction the body during the cold and rainy season to prevent fevers…isn’t that an uncanny over-lapping of the name?

Sure it is…here’s more…listen up…

Distincting qualities of Ylang Ylang oil:

Hypo-tensor – calms down hyper activities

Excellent for asthmatics

Extremely calming

Reduces hyperpnoea (over-accelerated breathing rate) and tachycardia (abnormal rapidity of heart beat)

Helps with sexual problems such as frigidity, or people who are out of touch with their bodies

Impotence – especially for men who are too cold towards their lover or children, like they are disconnected

Classed as an aphrodisiac, make the body feel warm and sensuous, restores childlike body warmth. Good for puberty when teenagers are feeling awkward

Probably they discovered the extensive qualities of the magic tree before we did..well then..Bori Bori…we follow…

Times when…an excessively hectic day takes its toll on us…all we crave for…is a lap…a lullaby that’ll ease down our strained senses and provide us a refuge from reality…no matter for a fraction of minutes…

But alas! Gone are the days of such serene experiences ’cause Good morning! Living in the 21st century…the maximum of comfort that we’re offered is a soft couch…and no granmas singing lullabies…but just the iPods or music players to keep us going..

But…but…but…there’s something that’s secretly intact…in its full natural bloom…certain gifts of nature that hold similar sedating qualities which quietly pacify you…calm you down…and remain ethereal without any human interruption…the natural…. esoteric oils

One of the most health benefiting oil is the Ylang Ylang oil. The calming effect of this oil is just commendable…it soothes the nervous system. When applied…this oil does wonders and eliminates the stress on mind almost instantly (largely owing to its exquisite smell ).

One who is shocked with any incident or have fear of anything for them it is very effective as it helps in removing it. Brings the blood pressure to normal levels…usage of this might be amazingly beneficial for those suffering from acute blood pressure problems. It is referred for rapid breathing and heart beats. It plays a major role in balancing the sebum secretion of our body.

The floral, dainty smell of Ylang Ylang is irresistible. It is known for its unique relationship to the heart and its intriguing ability to slow down a rapid heart beat. I personally can vouch for great results with this oil. It easily alleviates the symptoms of any kinds of stress or trauma.

Ylang Ylang is a strong sedative and antispasmodic. Do one thing…and experience it’s amazing affect…add it to your massage oil and then apply, you will feel a noticeable difference. Use it in your bathing water…it fights insomnia, reduces tension and anxiety.

Ylang Ylang helps people suffering from depression. Its normalizing and euphoric properties lift the person mentally and emotionally. It is good for anyone who has low self-esteem and women suffering from PMS.

The calming and relaxing properties and exotic fragrance make it an excellent sedative oil.

Ylang Ylang acts on the cardiovascular system. It may help to lower blood pressure, slow down an over rapid heart beat (trachycardia) or slow rapid breathing (hyperpnea).
